Customized Processing Solutions for High Value and Specialty Polymers to Reduce Material Costs, Recover Value, and Improve Resin Quality.

Wanted: Manufacturing Scrap of High Performance Materials

Contact us today to start recovering value from your manufacturing scrap. Not only will you make money from your scrap, but you can reduce your trash disposal costs and help the environment.

Below is a listing of the types of scrap materials we purchase. Please check back for updates to our list.

  • PEEK 450G Natural as hard scrap or machine shavings. Shavings should be no more than lightly contaminated with foreign materials or cutting fluids.
  • PEEK 450GL30 Natural
  • PEEK 150G Natural or colored
  • PEEK 150GL30 Natural
  • Ultem 1010 Natural or clear tints

In order to assure maximum quality of our finished products, we generally require that the material be in ungranulated form so that it can be processed with our entire range of quality control techniques. Materials that are already granulated will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. If quoted, the bid price will take into consideration the dust, fines, and foreign material contamination that may be present in the regrind.

Guidelines and General Considerations for Maximizing the Value of Your Scrap:
Scrap should be collected in designated, clearly labeled containers to minimize cross-contamination of different materials and grades in a container. Separate container should be designated for each material or grade. Even if you are selling several different materials as a group, having each material collected in separate containers will maximize the price you will be paid for each material in the group.

Scrap collection containers are not trash cans !!! All employees should be made aware of and follow this.

Startup / Purge parts and other obviously contaminated scrap should be discarded, not collected with scrap being accumulated for sale.

The price you can be paid for your scrap will depend upon a variety of factors, including:

  • Market conditions of supply vs demand
  • Quality of the parts, such as whether they have labels, molded-in metal inserts, multi-material molding, or other such foreign material attachment.
  • Cleanliness of the scrap. Environmental dust, oil mist, trash or debris accumulating on scrap in storage will require additional processing effort.
  • Uniformity of the material in a container - mixed material collection may make the entire quantity essentially worthless if manual separation by type becomes impractical or uneconomical.

We hope the above pointers provided some useful information to help set up and improve your scrap collection program. There are additional details that can be incorporated into a collection program to customize it for your manufacturing environment and scrap type, and we would be happy to assist you.
