PAI Uncured Powder — 140 Mesh

RENU™ PAI UNC-MP140 is a 140-mesh polyamide-imide powder in the uncured (pre-cure) state. In the uncured condition, PAI is processable at lower temperatures and exhibits higher green strength for compression molding of complex near-net-shape parts. After molding, a staged post-cure cycle completes the imidization reaction, developing the full suite of PAI’s exceptional mechanical, thermal, and tribological properties. This grade is the preferred form for producing custom-shaped PAI compression molded components. Properties listed below reflect fully post-cured values.

Processing Notes

IMPORTANT: Uncured PAI has limited shelf life — store refrigerated (4°C) in sealed container to maximize storage stability.

Post-cure schedule: 150°C / 2 hr → 177°C / 2 hr → 204°C / 2 hr → 232°C / 16–48 hr.

Parts must be machined after full cure for dimensional precision.

Do not attempt to melt-process uncured PAI — compression molding only.

PAI Virgin Powder — 140 Mesh

RENU™ PAI VIR-MP140 is a precision-milled, fully cured polyamide-imide (PAI) powder produced from virgin-grade feedstock. Polyamide-imide represents one of the highest-performance thermoplastic engineering materials available, combining exceptional mechanical strength at elevated temperatures, outstanding wear resistance, low coefficient of friction, and excellent chemical resistance. PAI retains meaningful structural properties at continuous service temperatures up to 260°C and short-term exposures approaching 300°C. The 140-mesh grade is suited for compression molding of high-performance seals, bearings, and structural components in aerospace, semiconductor, and heavy industrial applications.

Processing Notes

PAI is highly hygroscopic — dry at 120°C for 16–24 hours before processing; 177°C for 4 hours for critical parts.

Cured PAI cannot be melt-processed conventionally — intended for compression molding and press-and-sinter.

Post-cure at 232–260°C recommended for 16–48 hours to achieve maximum mechanical properties in molded parts.

PAI has one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any unfilled engineering thermoplastic.
